How do I book my travel with Aboogi Tours?

Accepted Answer

You will want to fill out the "Booking Inquiry" form that pops up when you choose "Book Your Adventure" on our Home Page or on the "Enquire" Page. You can also send us an email with all your booking information at aboogitours@gmail.com.

When we receive your booking inquiry, we will respond back to you within twenty-four hours with all the pertinent details on how to proceed in finalizing your travel with us.

How do I pay for my trip with Aboogi Tours?

Accepted Answer

For your travel in the Sahara, we highly advise to bring Euros or USD with you to cover your expenses while here. For most vendors and small businesses in our area, credit card usage is virtually nonexistent. Bring the cash amount with you and pay us in person when we pick you up at the Djanet airport ( "Tiska").

Can I customize my own travel with Aboogi Tours?

YES!  While we have our four organized tours listed on our Home Page, we also customize individual tours for small groups of people or individuals. If you want to work with us to create your dream experience in the Sahara, just let us know on our "Booking Inquiry" form or email us at aboogitours@gmail.com

What should I bring for my trip?

Accepted Answer

Just bring your own sleeping bag - everything we will provide from tents to food to transportation. It is recommended to bring as many personal toiletry items with you as you may need during the week as these are sometimes hard to find locally.

There is no official clothing list for a week in the desert but loose-fitting clothing, preferably cotton, is recommended. Neutral colors or pastels will work the best to keep the Saharan heat bearable. A hat and closed toe walking shoes are absolutely advisable.

How safe is it to travel to the Saharan Desert?

It is very safe for tourists to travel with their tour guides in the Sahara. You will be registered with the local police as a matter of  governmental protocol so the local authorities know who is visiting our area. There are police officers regularly patrolling Djanet and surrounding areas.

Most importantly, our Tuareg culture welcomes visitors. It is an honor for us to host visitors and to share our culture with them. So please feel safe and respected while you are with us.

Any other information that I should know for my trip?

When you arrive at the Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, make sure to exchange only a small amount of the cash you bring (perhaps 100 Euros or $100 USD) into Algerian Dinars. Keep the rest of your money in Euros or USD and wait until you get to Djanet to exchange the rest into Algerian Dinars.
